Zero to Hero

posted in Frenzied Daddy |

Regular readers would know that the Wife was gone last week. And other Portlanders would know that it was ninety-five degrees on Sunday, and it’s been very hot lately.

I set aside Sunday morning to clean the house up somewhat; the girl was very angry with me for not helping her more (cleaning up her toys) and for working on other issues. She announced to me that she would be telling Mom how mean I was to her all week.

After I cleaned the house, and when the house was quite warm, we went to the fountains. It’s one of the Kid’s favorite things to do. Usually we go to the Four Square fountain down by the Civic Auditorium; but it was turned off! So we tried Jamison Park, a new fountain, but it also was turned off!

Finally, we found ourselves at the Rose Quarter fountain. It’s right outside the Memorial Coliseum and the Rose Garden. It has timed jets of water and air, and some evenings before basketball games it has fire.

The Girl decided that this was the best day ever, and she wasn’t telling her mother how mean I’ve been all week. :)
