One of the strange things that Miss K likes to do is organize her things. Well, ok, she’s at about that age, but she’ll take out her legos and sort them by color. Or she’ll stack up her books. It’s nice to have a little helper when I’m straightening stuff up- she’ll put things inside other things, like laundry or blocks. But the challange here is — if I screw up and put a block into the box that holds the dolls, then she dumps out all the dolls and I have to start all over.

I’ve been out. Checked out.
I installed a new mail server for work, and one thing has lead to another. It’s been going steadily downhill, picking up pace as it goes. It makes me wonder if Sisyphus had the boulder roll down on top of him, or away from him. First one thing breaks, then I break another thing trying to fix it while not actually fixing it — it’s been one of the several kinds of hell.
In other news, my boss has informed me that he’s hiring another system administrator and that I should expect my hours to drop by about 30%, essentially because I’m an incompetent boob.

Miss K learned two very important lessons today.
First, her pointer finger fits neatly into her ear canal.
Second, after her pointer finger has been in her ear canal, Daddy does not want it in his mouth.

No, no, no, no.
I’ve left bruises on my skin from pinching myself to wake myself up from this nightmare. But here it is in black and white…
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
February 17, 2005
Mr. HOYER (for himself, Mr. BERMAN, Mr. SENSENBRENNER, Mr. SABO, and Mr. PALLONE) introduced the following joint resolution; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary
JOINT RESOLUTION
Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the 22nd amendment to the Constitution.
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled (two-thirds of each House concurring therein), That the following article is proposed as an amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which shall be valid to all intents and purposes as part of the Constitution when ratified by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years after the date of its submission for ratification:
Article –
`The twenty-second article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is repealed.’.
What’s the 22nd Amendment?
Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.
I’m not surprised. I wouldn’t have been surprised, either, if Bush had declared military rule and/or delayed the 2008 elections because of possible terrorist attacks. But I’m startled that this is in play. I’m almost as surprised as Bush slipping the Social Security Privatization into his budget with no announcements or fanfare; just a line item in his budget. Did he expect people not to notice?
Even if you’re a Republican, you should be angry and dismayed by this lying sleight of hand.

I’m not the best of cooks, I admit. I am, however, my family’s main cook. I’m not in the same league as my friend Julia, who is awesome in the kitchen (and in any other room; she makes me feel as talented as a clam).
