Regime Change

Bush wanted “regime change” in Iraq before 2001 That’s before September 11, 2001; the Towers falling was just a convenient excuse for Bush to become a “Wartime President.” How many have been torn, broken or wounded in his tragic quest?

And now, we hear that they want “regime change” in Iran. When I was growing up, Iran and Iraq were constantly fighting. I was worried, in fact, that when the US removed their troops, that Iran would take control of Iraq. But the regime change that Bush and his people want is backed by “nuclear might.”

One of my failings as a programmer is that I much prefer to write new code before I debug old code, and I wind up fighting bugs on multiple “fronts” as it were. I understand why Bush would want to start a maybe-successful campaign in this light. However, I can’t even call this “folly” or “a mistake” … I believe if we antagonize Iran, it’s completely stupid and illegal. Even then, some of those words sort of imply that Bush could have chosen differently; I’m not so sure. If it’s a “mistake” then he could not have made it– but I think that war with Iran fits into Bush’s plans all to well.
Iran’s Parlaiment is chanting “Death to America!” and Bush is planning to bring all of the middle east against us.

On a final note, I’m not so worried about Bush declaring Martial Law before the next Presidential election and making our transition to an Orwellian dystopia complete. It was pointed out to me that my belief that Bush “stole” the 2000 election with Republican shenanigans means that he hasn’t been voted to be president twice and that he’s eligible for a third term. In a wry way, this is funny, but I can’t believe that we’d go there.

Press Secretary – to Sex Offender …

What a jackass.

Republicans for “smaller government,” making up a larger, more unweildier government, and hiring jackasses like this one.

Proud Poppa

Last term’s report card for Miss B was short and pointed. This term’s is much better- in fact, I think I’ll quote from the whole thing, just because I want to share how proud I am of her and her turn-around.

Miss B’s the best. She’s really made some great improvements in applying herself to the tasks of learning. I think she’s just a lovely blend of cuddly, caring sensitivity and curiosity-driven intellecuality. Miss B’s so smart. her reading and writing have grown well-beyond her years. I’m so pleased to see Miss B move from a student who needs lots of prodding to the girl who now takes great dleignt in making herself read tough texts and write rich text. Atta girl!

It goes on, but I don’t want to embarrass her too much. :)
