Bigger than the Beatles?

This was the loud response of the DQ when she read that Rick Riordan was coming to town. He’s an author; he’s written the Percy Jackson series.
Percy Jackson is the son of Poseidon, and as a half-blood ( half mortal, half god, like Hercules ), he’s one of the focus points of a huge battle between the gods. But more immediately, he needs to live through school, and wend his way amongst the broken pickets of a love interest with the grey-eyed daughter of a certain other god ( wink wink nudge nudge know what I mean? ). The books are action-packed and interesting, not the least because Greek Mythology is one of my favorites.
Anyway, he’s doing a lecture for the library, “Percy Jackson and New York” or something on October 13, and then a book-signing. The DQ squealed. That was fun.
